How to spot Fake Dior lip products.

I had this pleasure to buy fake Dior lip products :/ meh… since I was on Dior workshop I have some idea how to spot FAKE. I would like to share this knowledge with you.

In this article I use my photos of product received form Dior directly (used for one year) and new fake one bought on Internet. The differences are small but visible if you look closely and know what to search for.

1. Colour of lip glos LIP MAXIMIZER COLLAGEN ACTIV.

On the left original product, on the right fake. You can see that the shade is different. In my case, product had a bit of shimmer. Original is milky pink.

2. Different fonts.

The difference is really slight. “W” upper part of the letter is almost connected, “M” is not straight  - it’s under slight curve.

                      

3. Embossing

When it comes to embossing fake logo is more visible and has sharp deep edges when in original you have smoothed edges (also you can see difference in fonts “I” or “r”).

4. Product code

Unfortunately, companies which make fakes try to be smart here, they use checked codes. In my case 5Y08 (for both products!). But code isn’t engraved - it's cast (which makes it bigger but still blurred). It should should be slim and sharp.

5. Stickers

Stickers should be sharp. Look closely at Brand name it can’t be bold. Details differ like on picture (lips, book).

6. Imperfections

Dior is a luxury brand and all product must be prepared with attendance to details. There is no place for imperfection and I’m not talking only about product but also packing. That's why if you want to spot fake among products look for glue marks or stains from mold.

There are mold stamps “L” shaped in each corner of the fake 

7. Last but not least SHOCKER! weight

To make sure I used 2 scales: home, and laboratory. Empty lipstick weights more than full fake!! So  back to point 6. The material used for packing is cheap and shabby. I know that it won’t be visible on the photo but when I knocked the package with my nail the pacing sound was different.

Difference between used lip gloss wasn't that spectacular but still, remember totally used product VS new one.
